Irvine dog trainer sentenced to nearly 12 years for killing 11 dogs in his care

An Orange County dog trainer convicted of killing 11 dogs left in his care and helping cover up their deaths was sentenced Friday to nearly 12 years in state prison.

Kwong (Tony) Chun Sit, 54, of Irvine, was sentenced to 11 years and 10 months in state prison after being convicted last month of 11 felony counts of animal cruelty, seven misdemeanor counts of attempting to destroy evidence and one misdemeanor count of destroying evidence.

His girlfriend, Tingfeng Liu, 24, of Vista, was sentenced to three years in state prison after being convicted of one felony count of accessory to a felony, one misdemeanor count of destruction of evidence and two misdemeanor counts of attempted destruction of evidence…
