One Southern California jurisdiction took their fireworks crackdown very seriously on the Fourth of July, as well as the days before and after.
The city of Orange said in their 2026 Fireworks Program report that the outreach started well before July 4 – in fact, it started on June 22 when the Orange Police Department began deploying electronic signboards and opened public fireworks reporting platforms.
Additionally, 200 educational fliers were distributed in areas identified as having a high call volume, and billboards were also put up in those spots along key roadways and near busy intersections…
