Semi Cab Destroyed in Crash on 210 Freeway in San Dimas; Driver Survives

SAN DIMAS, Calif., Apr. 26 (KNN) — The cab of a semi was completely destroyed in a crash on the 210 Freeway early Friday morning and miraculously, the driver survived.

The California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles County Fire Department received multiple 911 calls around 4:10 a.m. regarding a traffic collision involving a semi on the eastbound 210 Freeway just before the San Dimas Avenue exit in the city of San Dimas.

Once officers and firefighters arrived at the scene, they located a single semi-trailer crash with the cab completely off the rig.

The driver of the semi was able to make it out safely and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital to be assessed.

CHP had only three lanes, including the carpool lane, open for the eastbound 210 Freeway at San Dimas Avenue. A SigAlert was issued for an unknown duration.

The cause of the crash is not known at this time.
