A suspect driving a stolen tow truck escaped after leading authorities on a pursuit from Orange County to downtown Los Angeles overnight.
Police in Orange began pursuing the stolen truck just before 1 a.m., with the California Highway Patrol alerted as the vehicle traveled on the 22 Freeway, a CHP spokesperson told KTLA.
The chase continued onto the northbound 5 Freeway into Los Angeles County before the pursuit was terminated near West 8th and South Spring streets in downtown Los Angeles.
The CHP did not provide details about why the pursuit was called off, but news video service KNN reported the suspect was driving erratically and, at times, going the wrong way on surface streets…
