Two Mexican nationals have been arrested in Orange County for allegedly stealing valuable Lego minifigures through a buy-and-return scheme.
Adriana Esquerra Gonzalez, 29, and Luis Alfredo Quintanilla Pompa, 30, both of Tijuana, were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of shoplifting, according to the Irvine Police Department.
Investigators say the pair walked into a Target store, bought several boxes of Legos, and then immediately returned them with the minifigures removed. Officers were called to the store, located the suspects and allegedly found several stolen Lego pieces inside their vehicle…
