KINGMAN – Authorities have released the name of a Downey, California woman killed in a three-vehicle collision in downtown Kingman on May 18. Officers responded to the crash in the 1100 block of W. Beale Street at 10:48 a.m.
Kingman Police Chief Rusty Cooper said the passenger of an Audi sandwiched between two semi-tractor trailer rigs, Judy Shirley, 78, was dead at the scene of the incident a few blocks west of the Interstate 40 overpass. Her 82-year-old husband was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
“The preliminary investigation indicates that a black semi-truck, driven by a 34-year-old man from Nevada, was traveling eastbound on W. Beale Street and failed to stop for slowing traffic within an active construction-related congestion area,” Chief Cooper said. “The semi-truck struck a white Audi four-door sedan that had slowed for traffic ahead. The force of the collision pushed the Audi into a second semi-truck that was stopped in traffic.”…
