It was “fish on” at Ship Creek as anglers packed the banks for another weekend of the Slam’n Salmon Derby, hoping to land a prized king salmon.
For many participants, the goal is simple: spend hours casting and hopefully bring in a winning catch. One Anchorage angler did just that, landing a 13-pound king salmon after a long morning on the water.
