ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Shiveluch Volcano located on Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula erupted July 21 around 22:00 UTC or 2:00 p.m. AKDT.
While Shiveluch Volcano is very active and has shown consistent activity through July, the Tuesday evening eruption was sizable, projecting a volcanic ash plume up to 35,000 feet.
