ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Blue Market, a local grocery store in Anchorage, stocks goods that are mostly local and low-waste, introducing a new way to shop.
The market opened seven years ago when co-founder Jess Johnson said she was looking for a store like the Blue Market. Johnson and co-founder Jennifer Gorden started the store together in hopes to make clean shopping easier.
“We’re trying to make that convenient for people so they don’t have to make those hard choices if they care about the planet and the waterways,” Johnson said.
Local vendors and bulk buying
