Anchorage Woman Killed in Sterling Highway Crash

A 64-year-old Anchorage woman was killed Friday afternoon after a head-on collision between a pickup truck and a motorhome shut down the Sterling Highway for nearly eight hours near Cooper Landing.

According to the Alaska State Troopers, the crash was reported at 1:36 p.m. at Mile 62 of the Sterling Highway, in the area near Skyline Trail access, Upper Jean Lake, and Mystery Creek.
