ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A Fairbanks woman was sentenced Wednesday to 21 years in federal prison for her role in distributing the fentanyl that led to a North Pole man’s fatal overdose in the summer of 2022.
Samantha Lynn Pearson, 39, was sentenced to 252 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. U.S. District Court Judge Joshua M. Petersen also ordered Pearson to pay $2,880 in restitution for her role in the death of 32-year-old Adam Sakkinen.
The sentencing marks the conclusion of a multi-year investigation spearheaded by a Homeland Security Task Force, targeting a large-scale drug trafficking ring that has indicted over 60 individuals for distributing illegal drugs throughout Alaska.
