ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – If you’ve driven by Service High School lately and had the sense that something was watching you, you’re right! The school now boasts a large mural on the side of the building featuring the eyes of the Service Cougar.
Anchorage Artist Jen Jolliff said she was approached by the school’s Parent Teacher Student Association two years ago about painting a mural of the school mascot. She came up with a number of designs, but students and staff agreed, the piercing eyes were the clear winner.
“In the end we all just kind of rallied behind these big bright cougar eyes,” Jolliff said. “They’re watching out for the students, they’re watching out for the competition and they’re just kind of keeping an eye on things.”…
