ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The Anchorage School District welcomed back students in first through sixth grade and ninth grade for the 2026–27 school year.
Principal Abby O’Neill of North Star Elementary said the school is prioritizing reading and writing for students this year.
“I’m excited,” O’Neill said. “I think the kids are happy to be back, our staff is prepared. I feel like it’s going to be a really good year.”
