ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Nearly 100 runners gathered on the Ship Creek Trail on a brisk Sunday morning to run for a cause.
The second annual Puffin’ 5K, organized by the Alaska chapter of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), put its proceeds toward helping children with serious asthma and allergies toward learning more about their conditions and to have some summer fun.
The money will fund scholarships for what AAFA Alaska chapter president Sean Walsh called ‘asthma camp’, a yearly June excursion in Cooper Landing where children who may not normally get the chance to attend a summer camp due to their conditions can get a taste of that experience…
