A high-speed chase in the Wasilla area ended with an arrest Wednesday night.
Alaska State Troopers say the pursuit began around 10:55 p.m. after a black 2002 Mercedes-Benz C230 was observed speeding and swerving near Knik-Goose Bay Road and Eagle Eye Circle. The vehicle failed to stop for officers, leading to a 20-mile chase with speeds reaching 125 miles per hour.
The vehicle crashed near the Goose Bay airstrip, and the driver fled on foot into nearby woods. Troopers later located the driver, identified as 21-year-old Trinton Spohnholz of Anchorage, hiding under a fallen tree. He was arrested without further incident…
