ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A man accused of crashing a truck into a downtown Anchorage restaurant more than a year ago, was due in court Thursday — but refused to appear. His arraignment has been rescheduled for Friday, May 15.
Robert Miller, 41 at the time of the April 2025 crash, is facing charges connected to the incident at Anchorage Pel’Meni, located at the intersection of 5th Avenue and K Street.
The Crash
APD said they responded to the scene around 3:27 a.m. on April 20, 2025, where they found an unoccupied blue Dodge Ram that had crashed into the side of the restaurant.
According to APD, the truck was traveling upwards of 80 miles per hour before the crash. Investigators said Miller was not the registered owner of the truck, and the owner was unaware his vehicle had been involved in the crash, believing it to be at a repair shop. Officers recovered cocaine and fentanyl from inside the abandoned truck, along with blood samples that matched Miller’s DNA…
