ADRIAN — The Lenawee County accounts payable committee reviewed a $23,500 payment to Adrian Public Schools during its Accounts Payable meeting May 28.
County officials said the disbursement stemmed from a denied Principal Residence Exemption, or PRE, claim. When a property owner is denied the exemption, the unpaid school taxes must be repaid to the affected school district.
