‘Failed my own standards’: University of Michigan regent apologizes for previous remarks

ANN ARBOR, MI — University of Michigan Regent Jordan Acker apologized to university officials for his previous comments.

“I’m sorry to my colleagues on this board, I’m sorry to our students, our faculty, our staff, alumni and everyone who cares deeply about this university,” Acker said at the Thursday, June 25 Board of Regents meeting in Ann Arbor.

He said he is sorry “for the distraction, the disappointment and the pain that the situation has caused over the last two months.”…
