A late-night standoff at the Carriage Hill Apartments in Dearborn Heights ended early today when a man who had pointed a gun at officers surrendered after being wounded by police. Officers had been dispatched to the complex just before midnight for a reported domestic disturbance and stayed put through the night as negotiators worked to make contact. The man eventually gave himself up and was taken to a nearby hospital.

According to FOX 2 Detroit, Dearborn Heights police said an officer fired toward the apartment after the suspect pointed a firearm at officers outside the unit. Negotiators later convinced the man to surrender, with the account coming from a written police statement provided to reporters.
