At Milan’s Relay for Life, the first lap belonged to the people at the heart of the event: cancer survivors and caregivers.
Carrying a purple “Survivors Celebrating Life” banner, the group made its way around Wilson Park on Aug. 15 as friends, family members and fellow Relay participants cheered them on.
It was a meaningful beginning to an event that also made room for joy.
