The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) is improving safety at the intersection of Old US-12 and Pierce Rd/I-94 in Sylvan Township.
The week of Aug. 31, 2026, the intersection of Old US-12 and Pierce Rd/I-94 in Sylvan Township will be converted to an all-way stop, also known as a four-way stop. Currently, the intersection is a 2-way stop with Old US-12 traffic having the right-of-way.
An evaluation of the intersection determined that warrants were met for a multi-way stop based on the Michigan Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MMUTCD).
