Report: Skull found at Michigan Goodwill store not a medical or teaching specimen

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say a human skull that was found donated at a Goodwill store in southeastern Michigan earlier this year was not a medical or teaching specimen.

The skull was first found in late January at a Goodwill store in Chelsea. It was wrapped in a shirt and included in a group of other donated items.

The Washtenaw County Medical Examiner has analyzed the skull and told Fox 2 Detroit that it is a real human skull and not one cleared as a medical or teaching specimen.

It belonged to an African American woman and she was likely between the ages of 20 and 49 when she died. The examiner could not determine how long it has been since the person died…
