Glenn McClean was a 69-year-old veteran and car enthusiast who lived on Riverwoods Drive North in Canton, Michigan. When Jeffrey Dwight Lockach needed a place to stay, Glenn let him move in, brought his pets along, and paid him to do mechanical work on his cars. It was the kind of arrangement built on trust, one homeowner extending a hand to someone with nowhere else to go.
Neighbors noticed the relationship wasn’t always smooth. Frequent arguments were reported between the two men, and Glenn’s son later said his father had mentioned being assaulted by Lockach at some point before he vanished. When Glenn was reported missing, Canton Police issued an alert tied to his 2021 Ford Mustang, the car he owned and the one Lockach had access to.
That alert led officers in Dearborn to a Mustang parked behind a Tim Hortons, with a man sitting in the back seat who would spend the next several minutes lying about who he was.
A story that kept changing
When officers approached the car, the man in the back seat identified himself only as “Jeff.” Asked about the vehicle’s owner, he claimed Glenn was on a plane to Florida.
