This Saturday, bragging rights are on the line as in-state rivals, the Michigan Wolverines, take on the Michigan State Spartans in their annual Battle for the Paul Bunyan Trophy. In recent years (and all-time, admittedly), the University of Michigan has dominated this matchup. But this year, both teams are ghosts of their former selves, making this rivalry the most open it’s been in years.
The Spartans sit at the bottom of the BIG 10 standings (again), and the Wolverines are in 11th, with both teams struggling much of the year. So, Michigan has brought in some backup: a former Wolverine. Not just any Wolverine, but Hugh Jackman, a.k.a. The Wolverine.
