1 arrested by ICE in Ann Arbor stop slammed as ‘high risk’

ANN ARBOR, MI – One person was arrested by immigration enforcement in Ann Arbor during a stop that one leader called “high risk.”

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested the person around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, during a traffic stop near a daycare close to Beakes Street and North Fifth Avenue, according to eyewitnesses and Ann Arbor officials.

“You could see people in vests; you could see their guns, but I didn’t know who they were,” said Molly McFarland, an Ann Arbor resident who was dropping off her son at a nearby daycare. “It took me a second to wrap my head around that, oh, this is ICE.”…
