Without deer cull in Ann Arbor, city residents seeing uptick in yards

ANN ARBOR, MI — Residents in an Ann Arbor neighborhood say deer are appearing more frequently in their yards since the city ended its deer cull program.

Teresa Garland lives near Eberwhite Woods on the city’s west side and is concerned about an increase in deer she has noticed in the years since the city’s deer cull program ended after a cull in January 2020.

“When they were doing the deer cull, we’d get a couple of deer every so often throughout the year,” Garland said. “What I’ve noticed is every year or two we get more deer.”…
