DEXTER, MI — A major road closure is coming soon near the edge of downtown Dexter, as road officials gear up to construct a new roundabout and complete other road improvements.
Island Lake Road between Dexter-Chelsea Road and Dexter-Pinckney Road in Scio and Webster townships will close to traffic Monday, May 4. The closure is expected to last until early or mid-September.
The roundabout will be on the west side of downtown Dexter but technically outside city limits. It will be constructed just east of a historic narrow railroad viaduct where traffic gets congested during peak travel times…
