FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth-based American Airlines announced Tuesday a major upgrade to its inflight experience, reaching an agreement to install Starlink Wi-Fi on more than 500 narrowbody aircraft.
The installation process is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027. The upgrade will focus on the airline’s Airbus fleet, including new A321XLR and A321neo deliveries.
Starlink, which is engineered and operated by SpaceX based in Starbase, Texas, uses a low Earth orbit satellite constellation to offer high-speed internet.
