Ahead of the first round of the Charles Schwab Challenge on Thursday morning, the PGA Tour communications department revealed the weather forecast for the day.
“There is a few thunderstorms 60 miles to the NW of Forth Worth that may bring a passing shower around 9am if it holds together,” the forecast read. “Otherwise, partly cloudy skies and warm temperatures can be expected today with highs in the mid to upper 80s. An isolated thunderstorm could develop during the afternoon, but most locations will remain dry.”
While there was just a slight chance that thunderstorms would wreak havoc on the Fort Worth area, mother nature had other plans.
