A Korean restaurant in south Fort Worth has reopened under new owners

A local south Fort Worth favorite, Sam Won Gardens, has reopened as Sam Won Korean Cuisine.

Local foodies were sad to hear owner Sylvia Chung (Momma Chung) retired and closed the south Fort Worth restaurant in October of last year. Sam Won was owned by the Chung family since 2005 and survived Covid and the passing of Sylvia’s husband Own in 2022.

Customers loved the restaurant for its home-style Korean cooking. Menu favorites included bibimbap (a rice-veggie-meat bowl), marinated bulgogi meats that were grilled or cooked in broth on the table-top stove and lunch bento box specials with kimchi, tempura, dumplings and protein of choice…
