Dallas County Crowned Deadliest Drive In DFW

Dallas County has emerged as the deadliest county for traffic fatalities in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, according to a new analysis of crash data covering a five-year period. The report highlights the growing concern over roadway safety across North Texas, where hundreds of fatal crashes occur every year despite ongoing efforts to improve transportation infrastructure.

Traffic safety advocates say the findings reinforce the urgent need for stronger enforcement, safer road designs, and targeted improvements on some of the region’s most dangerous roadways.

More Than 1,500 Fatal Crashes in Five Years

The analysis, conducted by DeHoyos Accident Attorneys, found that Dallas County recorded 1,573 fatal traffic crashes during the five-year study period.

That translates to approximately 11.81 fatal crashes for every 100,000 residents, making Dallas County the highest-ranked county in the Dallas–Fort Worth area for deadly crashes among larger population centers…
