Texas Man Gets 40 Years in Massive Meth Case

A Texas man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for drug trafficking. According to the United States Attorney’s Office over 244 kilograms of Methamphetamine was seized during the operation.

How Investigators Uncovered the Drug Operation

31-year-old Evaristo Hidrogo was sentenced to 40 years behind bars on June 26, 2026, by Chief United States District Judge Reed O’Connor for possessing with intent to distribute a controlled substance – more than 244 kilograms of 100% pure methamphetamine as well as possessing other controlled substances and three firearms.

High-Speed Chase Led to the Arrest

Court records revealed that on November 18, 2025, Hidrogo was involved in a high-speed chase with law enforcement. After crashing into another vehicle, the suspect continued to flee from his vehicle. It didn’t take long for officers to catch up and Hidrogo was arrested.

Hundreds of Kilograms of Meth Found

During the arrest officers found 56 grams of methamphetamine on his person. His vehicle contained another 823 grams of methamphetamine, 301 grams of heroin, 55 grams of cocaine, and two firearms.

The drugs in the vehicle led investigators to search two additional locations resulting in more drugs and firearms being seized. A storage facility in Fort Worth turned up 244 kilograms of methamphetamine, and at a residence law enforcement located 10 more kilograms of methamphetamine and two kilograms of heroin…
