An Indian engineer living in the U.S. now faces murder charges after a chilling investigation into his wife’s death revealed disturbing final messages and a shocking photograph sent to another woman. Avinash Narne, 30, is accused of strangling his 27-year-old wife, Raajitha Sabbineni, inside their Washington apartment and then attempting to conceal the crime.
The couple, both originally from Telangana, India, had been married just four months when tragedy struck in October 2025. Court documents indicate that Sabbineni had complained multiple times about the bitter taste of drinks her husband prepared for her.
On the day she died, she sent a final message telling Narne that a smoothie he made tasted like “medicine” and “cough syrup.” Hours later, she was found dead.
On October 27, Narne called emergency services, claiming he had returned from errands to find his wife locked inside the bathroom, unresponsive to his calls. When first responders arrived, they broke down the bathroom door to discover Sabbineni motionless on the floor. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy later revealed that Sabbineni’s death was not due to a natural cause but was the result of manual strangulation, prompting authorities to launch a full homicide investigation.
Over the next nine months, detectives conducted a thorough digital and financial investigation that uncovered a troubling motive. Narne was allegedly involved in a secret romantic relationship with another woman in India. Records show he contacted his mistress multiple times on the day of the killing and continued communication afterward.
Court documents further allege that Narne took a photograph of his wife’s body after the murder and sent it to his lover. Police confirmed that the death appeared suspicious from the outset.
Narne is currently in custody on a $5 million bond. If convicted of murder under Washington state law, he could face life imprisonment. The case continues to unfold as investigators dig deeper into the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
