The daughter of Mexican immigrants who arrived in Fort Worth in 1974, Aracely Muñoz now serves as senior director of corporate partnerships and philanthropic advising at Children’s Health, helping connect donors and companies with opportunities to improve children’s lives across North Texas. Her passion for her work is deeply personal.
She grew up watching her parents work multiple jobs to keep the family afloat. After they divorced, Muñoz, the youngest of four siblings, moved with her mother into her aunt and uncle’s home for nearly three years.
Without a car, the two walked 1.5 miles to the bus stop to reach the school she attended, where her mother worked in the cafeteria. Neighbors took notice and rallied around the family. All four Muñoz children eventually earned college degrees.
