ATLANTA, GA — A broken line of strong to severe storms is expected to develop Tuesday evening from western Tennessee into Arkansas and down to Texas. Much of the activity is likely to arrive after sunset.
Forecasters said people in Memphis, Little Rock, Dallas and Fort Worth should have a way to receive warnings while they are asleep. The storm threat includes hail larger than golf balls, damaging winds and a few tornadoes, with some tornadoes possibly strong.

The line of storms is forecast to form Tuesday evening and then move through the region overnight. The late timing raises concern for people who may not be awake to hear warnings.
The Weather Channel said the setup could produce severe weather across a broad corridor stretching from Tennessee through Arkansas and into Texas.
