Man returns home and finds the man a judge banned from his property — then both allegedly open fire

A Fort Worth resident returned home to find a man already on the property despite an active protective order connected to someone living there, and what followed became a deadly exchange of gunfire that left one man dead and the resident hospitalized.

Gun-rights activist and YouTuber Colion Noir used the case to argue that protective orders can provide legal consequences after someone violates them, but cannot physically stop a determined person from showing up in the first place.

Noir was careful not to describe the shooting itself as a clear-cut self-defense case. He said he did not know who drew first, what was said immediately before the gunfire, or whether either man escalated the confrontation, while emphasizing that investigators had already established one important fact: the man who died was not supposed to be on the property under the existing court order.
