The Ross Fire has blackened just over 90,000 acres across North Texas, destroying more than 150 structures in a little over a week, as record-breaking drought and extreme heat continue to plague the region.
As of Tuesday, 31% of the fire, which has burned across Palo Pinto and Jack counties, has been contained, according to data from the Texas A&M Forest Service.
News of the fire broke Aug. 24, when crews with the forest service responded to requests for assistance on 80 acres located along U.S. Highway 180 in Palo Pinto County. The cause has not been determined…
