TEXAS — Antibiotic-resistant bacteria are making some infections increasingly difficult to treat. Researchers at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) are studying how those bacteria survive with the goal of finding new ways to fight them.
The university recently received more than $4.6 million in federal funding through two five-year grants to support the research. Inside a UTA lab, researchers are studying how bacteria respond to stress and adapt during infection and antibiotic treatment.
