Man killed in welding explosion at work site Thursday, Fort Worth police say

A man was killed in an explosion at a work site on the east side of Fort Worth on Thursday morning, officials with the police department said.

Officers responded to a “private large yard work area” in the 7100 block of Jack Newell Boulevard about 11 a.m. Thursday, according to a statement.

Investigators learned that a man was working on a welding project when a blast occurred, killing him, police said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and no other injuries were reported…
