Come together in unity with NBC 5, Telemundo 39, and the Tarrant County Black Historical and Genealogy Society at the17th Annual Tarrant County Harambee Festival. The event spans two days from October 2-3 at the William Madison McDonald YMCA in Fort Worth. Families will enjoy a heavy itinerary of live music, special performances, poetry readings, vendor booths, arts and crafts, children’s activities, delicious food, and much more!
The Harambee Festival kicks off on Friday, October 2, with the Seafood, Chicken, & Blues event from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. The event, meant for a more mature crowd, offers a variety of food, beverages, and live blues from artists such as Don Diego Band and Allen Turner.
Saturday’s events kick off with a parade at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Opening Ceremony and an Anti-Bullying Rally. Throughout the day, families will be treated to live music and performances, including the Annual Poetry Slam. Shop from small, local businesses at various vendor booths and food trucks. Keep the kids entertained throughout the day with arts, crafts, and bounce houses.
