Village Homes of Fort Worth has emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy following a contentious legal fight over 100 residential lots.
A bankruptcy judge approved the homebuilder’s reorganization plan this summer, allowing Village Homes to maintain its existing ownership and leadership while continuing normal operations. It also so happens the company is marking its 30th anniversary this year.
The bankruptcy was a bit of a detour for Village Homes, which has built more than 1,500 homes over the past three decades.
“Chapter 11 was not a path we wanted to take, but it became necessary to protect the business and the people who depend on us,” said Michael Dike, co-founder and president of Village Homes, according to a press release…
