Traffic stop results in seizure of a kilogram of methamphetamine, Tarrant County officials say

TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — A Tarrant County deputy seized over a kilogram of drugs from a vehicle search that started as a traffic stop, officials said.

On April 14, a Tarrant County patrol deputy initiated a traffic stop in the 3300 block of Alta Mere Drive, the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. The deputy noticed inconsistencies with the driver’s statements and actions and called in a K-9 officer to assist, the release states.

The dog performed a free air sniff of the vehicle, and the K-9 indicated a positive alert for the presence of illegal drugs, officials said. In a search of the vehicle, deputies found one kilogram of methamphetamine, 144 grams of ecstasy, and 15 grams of cocaine, the release states. Deputies also found $1,651 in cash…
