D CEO held its 13th annual Mergers & Acquisitions Awards event on May 5 at On the Levee. Presented in partnership with the Association for Corporate Growth-DFW, the program recognized the most impactful acquisitions, mergers, and other financial transactions in North Texas last year—and the dealmakers who made them happen.
This year, the M&A Legacy Award was presented to Patrick Hamner of Patriot Capital. Nearing retirement, Hamner’s career spans several decades in both the corporate world and as a dealmaker. He spent 24 years with Capital Southwest Corp., rising to senior vice president and serving on 14 boards, before joining Patriot Capital in 2012. Along the way, he helped found and lead multiple investment platforms, served as founding chairman of Heelys, and shared his expertise as an adjunct lecturer at SMU’s Cox School of Business.
His impact extends far beyond the deals themselves. He has been a leader across organizations including ACG, AM&AA, and most recently founded the Bachman Lake Rowing Club, creating opportunities for young people to grow, compete, and pursue college scholarships…
