Builder plans 35-home development near popular Smithfield TexRail station

Sandlin Homes wants a zoning change that would bring 35 new homes to vacant land near the Smithfield Station, a popular TEXRail stop.

The North Richland Hills Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Thursday, at 4301 City Point Drive, to discuss the request from Sandlin Homes to change the zoning to infill planned residential development on approximately 7.5 acres in the 6800 block of Smithfield Road.

The land is on the west side of Smithfield between Cortland Drive and Odell Street, about a half mile from the Smithfield TexRail station. The property includes several parcels of land from Smithfield to Hewitt Street…
