McLEAN, Va. (DC News Now) — A man from McLean was sentenced to a year and three months in prison for threatening to kill a public official, the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the Eastern District of Virginia announced Thursday.
Court documents state that on Dec. 23, 2025, 33-year-old Scott Allen Bolger used Google Voice to send a threatening message to a public official. He used the software to hide his phone number while sending these text messages.
“In his message, Bolger threatened to put a bullet in the official’s head,” the USAO said.
