Members of VATF-1 continue supporting rescue operations in Cali, Colombia, after a 7.4 earthquake hit the area. Engineers are assisting in coordinating rescue teams during the complicated delayering process. The team arrived in the region Aug. 12.
Suspect arrested in fatal stabbing of Reston woman
Fairfax County Police have arrested a 19-year-old illegal alien in connection with the fatal stabbing of a Reston woman whose body was found Monday morning in the parking lot of Difficult Run Park in Great Falls.
Police Chief Kevin Davis said during a news conference on Wednesday that a good Samaritan out for a run came upon the victim’s body and called police. Officers responded at 6:43 a.m. Aug. 17 to the 8800 block of Georgetown Pike after receiving a report of an unconscious woman lying near a vehicle. Police identified the victim as Carmen Lizet Puch, 42, of Reston. She was found with trauma to her upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene…
