Baltimore, Md. — Severe weather threatens a large swath of Maryland and surrounding areas Thursday night as forecasters warn of strong winds, hail and lightning through the early morning hours.
The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center issued a severe thunderstorm watch valid until 2 a.m. EDT Friday. The watch covers 22 Maryland counties and the city of Baltimore, impacting nearly 12 million people, over 2,800 schools and more than 140 hospitals across the region.
