More money up for grabs: Maryland’s unclaimed property climbs to $3.2 billion

The amount of unclaimed money sitting with the State of Maryland keeps growing, even as millions of dollars are being mailed back to owners automatically.

The Maryland Comptroller’s Office now holds $3.2 billion across 16.4 million unclaimed property accounts. Just seven months ago, the state reported holding $2.7 billion across 14.3 million accounts.
