Sunday morning there may be a break in the dreary drizzle and light showers, but the damp, cool conditions may bring showery and windy weather at times during the afternoon and evening. The other aspect of this system that will impact parts of the DMV is the coastal flooding potential. Between tonight and through til Monday, especially at times of high tide, counties along the Chesapeake Bay will see a rise in water levels of some 2.5 feet above normal. As a result, there are coastal flood warnings, watches and coastal flood advisories for Southern Maryland.
By Monday, the rain and wind gusts are forecast to start subsiding, but it will still be mainly cloudy; as a result, temperatures will continue to hold primarily in the 60s during the afternoon and 40s/50s at night.
Beyond Monday, the Nor’easter will be pulling further away, and high pressure will take up residence over the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Overall, this pattern brings back dry and slightly warmer temperatures with highs in the 70s and possibly getting as high as the low 80s late next week. After this weekend, the next chance for some wet weather may arrive Friday and into next weekend ahead of a cold front.
