Happy Sunday, DMV! Make sure to grab the umbrella before you head out the door this morning. A cold front is slowly moving through the region, sparking up showers in the area. Spotty showers will continue to be the trend through much of the morning, with mainly cloudy skies.
The cold front will start to push offshore by this afternoon, and showers will begin to wrap up from west to east. These showers will be beneficial for the region amid the ongoing drought in the DMV. Overall, we can see about a quarter of an inch of rainfall when all is said and done. Winds this afternoon will quickly shift from the northwest, ushering in cooler air today. Winds could gust between 25 and 30 mph, with highs struggling to get out of the 50s and 60s. Clouds will give way to some sunshine late afternoon before more clouds roll back in tonight.
Winds will start to die down a little after sunset, but it will be a chilly night. Lows are expected to dip into the 30s and 40s under mostly cloudy skies. There is a slight chance of a stray shower moving through the MD/PA border. Tomorrow morning will start chilly, with highs warming up into the 50s by the afternoon. Expect a mix of sun and clouds with highs reaching into the 50s as a secondary cold front exits the region.
